Quick Biography
My name is Maxine Cruz and I am 17 years old, living in Vancouver.
I am passionate about living life to its fullest and enjoying every moment. I love meeting new people and hearing different stories about their lives. My goal for each day is to try and maintain a positive outlook, seeing the best in people and the world around me.
When I am not actively trying to do that, I am reading books, preferably of the fantasy genre. I am also a Youth Facilitator at the organization Youth Empowering Youth, where I guide participants to grow into passions and further develop into the wonderful human beings I know they are. I adore animals, specifically my little fluffy dog, who is always barking at the television.
Lastly, I am so thankful for this opportunity to speak to you all.
Speech Information
Life is full of failures. And they can occur in different forms, whether in your attitude, behaviors, work, relationships, and in school, failure can occur and totally disrupt you.
However, it is important to know that failure is not the end. You must learn from it and move forward.
Specifically for me, I dealt with failure in my relationships, my jobs, and in my attitude.
In my speech, I take you through the process of how I noticed how my negative outlook was holding me back from my potential as well as forming new relationships. How I believed I was failing in life, failing my parents, and failing myself. I knew I had to learn from this and change myself for the better. Through this journey, I learned very valuable lessons and steps to help others when dealing with failures.
Learning from your experiences can occur at any time, utilize the steps I will teach you, and fail forward to your success.
